2018 Job Shadow Day: #PicturePossible
On Friday, March 9, the PIC will be coordinating the 23rd Annual Job Shadow Day in partnership with area employers. Job Shadow Day is a chance for Boston public high school students to preview the workplace prior to applying for summer jobs and internships by shadowing local professionals. It is also a time for employers who are planning to hire students through the PIC to engage with young adults. Learn more about the PIC’s summer jobs program in the newly released 2017 Summer Jobs Report which will give you an idea about what is in store for the coming summer.
This year, an estimated 400 students will participate in Job Shadow Day, visiting companies in industries like financial services, life sciences, healthcare, technology, and more. Students will take workplace tours, sit in on meetings, work on projects, and begin to build professional connections.
To help students prepare to enter the workplace and make the most of the job shadow experience, PIC career specialists have been working with students to create professional resumes, practice workplace etiquette, develop interview skills, and more.
