Don't Hesitate, Legislate! Campaign

Monday, December 5^th was the official launch of our “Don’t hesitate, Legislate!" Campaign. 

Our objective is to get the Education Committee to report out a dropout prevention and recovery bill by mid-January, with four strategic provisions:

1. Set a goal of reducing the dropout rate by at least 50% by 2016.   
2. Increase the legal dropout age using a phased-in approach.  
3. Fund graduation coaches and outreach to dropouts.  
4. Reduce the negative impact of suspensions and expulsion.

What you can do: Please email this flyer, then follow up by mailing this card to members of the Education Committee in your district before the holidays. Feel free to reach out to any of them that you know to discuss it in person. For stamped hard copies of the card, contact Erica Mercier.
